illustration friday on monday # 6 (monster)

Mood : carnivalesque disobedience  Listening to: buffalo daughter

This weeks illio topic is monster. Monster is a term for any number of legendary creatures that frequently appear in mythology, legend, and horror fiction. The word originates from the medieval vulgar Latin verb monstrare, which translates as either “to exhibit” or “to point out”. Medusa it is a rather strange myth. I personally would not want to call these girls a monster to their face. . .(click pic. for larger versions).

secret stash (studio friday #1)

Mood : foibles of the reconstruction  Listening to: dane cook

The secret stash in my studio is old books. I keep all my books perfectly propped up on their bookshelf so that the pillaging that has taken place inside them is not obvious. I have separate bookshelves for books that are okay to rip up and ones that are not. But when I need a certain image, a must have word – almost no book is safe. I am always searching for old damaged books then I don't have to feel guilty. I tell myself that now instead of gathering dust someone can wear the contents or look at them everyday on the wall. But still I do feel somewhat remorseful and find myself creating the illusion that they are all being collected and pristine. For more unveiling of secret stashes and my fav. so far is just wickedly amazing!
